FAQ How long have you been shooting weddings?- I’ve been shooting weddings professionally for about four years but have been a professional photographer for over 20 years. I do this full time, and I am a member of the International Cinematographers Guild. Do you shoot weddings alone?- No, I always work with a 2nd photographer and on very large weddings I will occasionally work with a 3rd. There is way too much happening on your wedding day, and I would hate to miss a moment because I was spread too thin. What sort of cameras do you use?- I work digitally with Canon 5D mark III and mark II camera bodies and L series prime lenses. My most used lenses are the EF 70-200mm f/2.8, EF 24-70mm f/2.8, EF 50mm f/1.2L, EF 16-35mm f/2.8 and EF 100mm f/2.8L macro. I also use a 45mm and 90mm T/S-E (tilt/shift) occasionally. Are you willing to travel for our wedding? - Yes! I love to travel! Ask for a custom quote if your wedding is more than a few hours from Michigan. I charge for the travel expenses and if it requires an overnight stay, or especially if it requires a flight. Why should we hire you?- You have found me for a reason, and hopefully my style is what brought you here. I take a limited amount of weddings each year – quality of quantity is my thing. It’s important that each client get a custom experience and that we can build a great working relationship. How long before we get to see the photos?- I usually get pretty excited to edit your photo’s so I try and post a sneak peak within a day or two on social media (Facebook) if OK with the client. Your actual online gallery will be up for you to view between 14 and 30 days. Your photos will be displayed for 90 days on an online gallery at Alicia Gbur weddings You, your family, and friends can use this to order prints. How many pictures do you take at a wedding?- This is different for each wedding, but I take an average of 1500 - 2500 images in 8 hours of coverage. I then edit them down and deliver anywhere from 800-1000. You will then get to make your top 300 edit choices that will be retouched and color corrected. You’ll receive final touched-up images: Online, in your gallery and then mailed to you on a thumb drive. What is “image retouching and color correction?”- I smooth skin and blemishes, wrinkles, or something distracting in the background. Color correction are tones and hues I add that give my work its distinct look. I use several different corrections and usually chose them as I see fit for each wedding. If you have a certain request, I will make every attempt to accommodate. Will you work with same-sex couples?- Absolutely! How can we hire you!?- Lets first sit down have a meeting and make sure that we are a great match for each other. After all, I am one of the only vendors that will be with you before, during and after the wedding. It will seem as if I am your personal paparazzi, so it’s important we are on the same page style wise. If we are not a great fit, I can recommend a few other photographers.
